Almond Milk

Recipe: Almond Milk

Learn how to make fresh almond milk or any nut milk!

Equipement

High speed blender, fine-mesh strainer or cheese cloth

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup almonds, soaked
  • 4 Cups water
  • 4 Tablespoons raw agave nectar
  • 2 Tablespoons coconut oil, melted (optional)
  • 2 Teaspoons vanilla extract or the scraped seeds of 1/4 vanilla pod
  • 1 Teaspoon sunflower lecithin (optional)
  • Pinch of Himalayan salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender except coconut oil until smooth.
  2. Add coconut oil and blend a low speed.
  3. Strain milk.

Notes

You can substitute almonds with any other nuts. Use the lecithin to keep the milk emulsified if you don’t use it right away. I usually don’t use it since I do just enough to use right away. Dehydrated the pulp after straining the milk to use as flour in other recipes.
